Next meeting will pick UML spokesperson: Yogesh Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Standing Committee (SC) member and Chief of Publicity Department Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the next meeting will decide on the party’s spokesperson.

Speaking after Saturday’s morning’s SC meeting, he informed that SC will decide on the name of party Spokesperson.

Bhattarai who had been the Chief of UML’s Publicity Department was expected to be assigned the responsibility of Spokesperson after the party decided to return on May 17, 2018 status. However, Pradeep Gyawali, who had been a close aide of party Chairman KP Oli has been performing the responsibility till date.

“We have asked all the committees to return on May 17. At that time, there was no spokesperson in our party. At that time, I was the head of the publicity department. A spokesman was not named. When the head of the publicity department informed the media about the decision, people wondered whether I have been working as Spokesperson,” he said, adding, “ The post of spokesperson has been created after March 7. Since then, Gyawali has been handling the responsibility.” The next meeting will decide whether I will be the spokesperson or not. ”

UML has scheduled next SC meeting for 3.30 pm today.
