KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to immediately hold the implementation of government decision to appoint Sahadev Bogati as an ‘expert member’ of Nepal Oil Corporation Board of Directors.

A division bench of Justice Iswori Prasad Khatiwada and Nahakul Subedi on Friday ordered the government not to bring the decision into effect reasoning that Bogati did not have the knowledge and experience required to work as an expert member.

“The expert appointed should apparently have necessary ‘knowledge and experience’ on the concerned subject to be chosen as an expert of the board of directors while seeing the working nature of the NOC,” read the directive order.

Bogati’s educational qualification is only School Leaving Certificate and is found to be involved in Rural Water Supply and Sanitation and Development Board and Chairperson of Khaptad Area Tourism Development Committee. These credentials are not enough to appoint him as expert member at NOC, reiterated the order.
