Public entities won’t be privatized: FinMin Sharma



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that public corporations will not be privatized.

Responding to a question raised in relation to the Appropriation Ordinance in Parliament, Minister Sharma clarified that there was a plan to increase the capacity of public enterprises through management reform instead of privatizing them. He cleared that the government was not in favor of the privatization of public enterprises.

Recently, there was widespread criticism against the process to transform the business model of Nepal Airlines Corporation by calling it a bid to privatize the public company.
