CPN-UML holding Standing Committee meeting today

To dwell on party's Gen Convention, role in parliament



KATHMANDU: Main opposition CPN-UML is holding its Standing Committee (SC) meeting today.

The meeting will be held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation in Cyasal, Lalitpur at 4 pm.

The meeting will discuss the General Convention of the party and it’s role in the current parliament, according to party sources.

During a meeting with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) delegation led by Vice President Fatema Sumar on Thursday, UML Chairperson Oli said that the UML will present its views on MCC only after the government clarifies its stance on the compact.

Oli told so to the delegation led by MCC Vice President Fatema Sumar who reached Balkot to hold talks with him Thursday afternoon. The two sides held two hours-long discussions.

According to UML Foreign Department Chief Rajan Bhattarai, who participated in the meeting, Oli told the delegation that the government had not discussed the MCC Compact with him.

Today’s SC meeting will also come up with an official view on the MCC, said the source. .
