KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has announced his candidacy for the post of General Secretary at the party’s 14th general convention.
Arriving at the BP Museum in Sundarijal on Thursday, on the occasion of the 108th birth anniversary of BP Koirala, Sharma announced his candidature for the post of General Secretary.
Sharma informed that he declared his candidacy for the post of General Secretary with the idea of running the government for 15 consecutive years.
BP was of the view that if Congress could lead the government for 15 consecutive years, the country’s economic prosperity and the living standards of the people would also be increased.
“My candidacy for the post of General Secretary is to realize the model of development envisioned by BP by leading the Congress government for 15 consecutive years. I will work for that as General Secretary,” said Sharma.
As the Congress General Convention is approaching, the leaders are continuing to announce their candidacies. There are around a dozen aspirants for the post of General Secretary alone and some of them have already announced their candidacies.
Earlier, Gagan Thapa has announced his candidacy for the post of General Secretary.
Other aspirants for the post are Bal Krishna Khanna, NP Saud, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Ramesh Lekhak, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minendra Rijal, Dhanraj Gurung and Gururaj Ghimire.
