KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and ruling Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has instructed lawmakers not to make haphazard comments on US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement unless they have understood it well.

Speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary party (PP) of ruling NC on Tuesday, PM Deuba remarked that the previous governments had been pushing the MCC forward by making necessary laws.

“MCC is a grant Nepal bagged due to eligibility after taking part in various levels of competition and it’s in the best interest of a democratic country,” he said, adding, “However, an unnecessary confusion has been created by making unnecessary comments by the people who have not understood it well.”

He urged the lawmakers to go through the MCC agreement well before making comments on it.
