KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has claimed that the current government cannot bring Melamchi water to Kathmandu.

Addressing the program organized by the party Saturday, Oli said only the UML could bring Melamchi water to Kathmandu again.

Stating that his government had been preparing to restore water supply from Melamchi to Kathmandu by next April though the floods ravaged the project earlier this year, Oli claimed that the incumbent won’t be able to achieve the same task.

He said, “The UML will win the election and after that only Melamchi water will arrive in Kathmandu. To bring water to Kathmandu, UML is needed.”

Oli also claimed that the government led by him had allocated budget for road maintenance to Melamchi but the current government had scrapped the allocation.
