BIRATNAGAR: CPN-Unified Socialist Leader Ram Kumari Jhankri has promised to give vote of confidence to Chief Minister of Province 1 Bhim Acharya and Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Ashta Laxmi Shakya provided they join her party.

Speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday morning, leader Jhankri asked Chief Ministers duo Acharya and Jhankri to join Unified Socialist if they really want to get their (Unified Socialist party’s) vote of confidence.

“They have the September 7 deadline to choose the party, if CM duos Acharya and Shakya join Unified Socialist, I will campaign to ensure vote of confidence to them,” she said.

Province 1 CM Acharya has already said that he would remain in CPN-UML, while Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shakya has been silent on which party to choose.

Both Acharya and Shakya had been staunch supporter of the issues raised by disgruntled Khanal-Nepal faction as long as they were in UML; they deserted the faction when Madhav Kumar Nepal formed a new party concluding there is no chance for UML chairman Oli to make the course correction.
