Five killed, three missing in Parbat landslides



PARBAT: Five people have been killed and three others have gone missing after being buried by landslides at various places in the district.

Two people have been found dead in a landslide in Kushma Municipality-3, Durlung after heavy rains last night.

The bodies of 15-year-old Bimala Poudel and 11-year-old Binita Poudel have been recovered from the same house.

According to Shivaraj Budathoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, search is on for the three missing persons.

Similarly, the bodies of Durga Poudel, 35, and her six-year-old son Ganesh were found buried in a landslide in Pakuwa of Kushma Municipality-11, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Budathoki.

Likewise, a 50-year-old Thulimaya Thapa died after being buried in a landslide in Modi village municipality-5.

Though it is estimated that other places in the district have also been damaged due to heavy rains, full details have not been released yet, police said.
