Poudel-led faction NC leaders holding discussions



KATHMANDU: The Ram Chandra Poudel-led faction of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is holding internal discussions to decide on a common candidate for the post of the party President in the upcoming General Convention.

Leaders of the faction are gathering at the residence of NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel this afternoon to agree on a common candidate.

The faction is under pressure to forge consensus on a common candidate against party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in the upcoming general convention.

Leaders including Ram Chandra Poudel, Shashank Koirala, Shekhar Koirala and Prakash Man Singh have expressed their desire to become the presidential candidate from the faction.
