Heavy rains predicted for two more days

Meteorologists warn floods and landslides

KATHMANDU: The Meteorology Forecasting Division has forecast heavy rainfall in most parts of the country for two more days due to the effect of monsoon winds.

The weather will remain mostly cloudy throughout the country on Sunday, it said.

The Division has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places of Province 1, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar informed that the rainfall may continue until Monday or Tuesday.

Likewise, there is a huge possibility of thunder/lightning in a few places in Province 1, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudur Pashchim Province.

The Division has called for vigilance as there is a risk of floods and inundation in the plains due to continuous rains and a high risk of landslides in the hilly areas.
