There have been no talks for government: Mahantha Thakur



KATHMANDU: Mahantha Thakur, the Chairperson of the newly formed Democratic Socialist Party, Nepal has clarified that his party has made no discussion with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on joining the government.

Speaking to the reporters at his Babrmahal based party office, DSP Chair Thakur said that he has never talked to PM Deuba about joining the government.

While Prime Minister Deuba is preparing give the cabinet full shape, Thakur dismissed his possibility of joining the government immediately.

“Party registration has just taken place just now,” he said, adding, “Although we have met each other quite often, neither PM Deuba nor me have talked about joining the government. Our party will decide when time comes.”

Chairman Thakur also clarified that the party has not yet decided on the issue of making any election focused coalition.

“We are not in the ruling coalition,” he said, “We will consider that issue after the election is declared.”
