Lumbini CM KC to seek vote of confidence today amid obstruction

KATHMANDU: Lumbini Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on Monday.

The Province Assembly (PA) Secretariat, in its schedule for today, included the agenda of CM KC seeking a vote of confidence in the PA.

The vote of confidence in accordance with Article 168, Clause 4 of the constitution, is to go ahead despite obstructions from the UML.

CM KC,  also the parliamentary party leader of CPN (Maoist Centre), was appointed as the chief minister of Lumbini Province after then CM Shanakr Pokhrel who hailed from CPN-UML resigned on August 11.

However, the UML has been obstructing the Lumbini PA meeting seeking action against two lawmakers who had contested under its election symbol, the sun.
