RASUWA: One person has died and four others have gone missing in the landslides triggered by a heavy rainfall in Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts on early Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane, a local of Belkotgadhi Municipality-5 in Nuwakot district . He was buried to death while he was clearing the debris in his garden, said police. His body has been taken to Trishuli Hospital for a postmortem.
Similarly, four persons have gone missing in the rain-triggered landslide that buried a house at Koldanda at Naukunda Rural Municipality-5 in Rasuwa, according to District Police Office, Rasuwa,
Meanwhile, a joint team of Nepal Police, Nepali Army and Armed Police Force has been deployed to the incident site for rescue operations, Dhakal said. The incident site is around 50 kilometers south of the district headquarters, Dhunche.
According to Shyam Bahadur Tamang, 36, who was injured in the landslide, his wife, two daughters and a son are missing. The search for the missing is underway, said DSP Devendra Pandey of District Police Office, Rasuwa.
