Prohibitory orders enforced in 57 districts

KATHMANDU: The government has enforced prohibitory orders in 57 districts across the country.

Authorities across the country are tightening the prohibitory orders in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19.

They have started tightening restrictions fearing public negligence that has been leading to the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

More than a dozen other districts also tightened restrictions during prohibition orders.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur administrations issued an order last week (August 5-11) mandating to conduct training and seminars virtually.

In the previous orders, events were allowed to be held with less than 25 participants.

The latest order issued from August 12-24 also banned public and private vehicles from plying the roads after 8 pm.

Chief District Officer (CDO) of Lalitpur, Dhundi Prasad Niraula, said, “We found people loitering at night, crowding several areas. To prevent such activities we decided to ban mobility after 8 pm.”
