Ruling NC holding CWC meeting even today

Likely to issue new schedule for 14th Gen Convention



KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a central working committee (CWC) meeting at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha today.

To be held at 11 am, the CWC meeting will dwell on schedule and the election guideline of the 14th General Convention.

In the meeting Thursday, Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi, General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka and Ramesh Lekhak had submitted separate reports on integration,  election guideline and active membership of the party, respectively.

Other members of the committee Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Jeevan Pariyar, Pradeep Poudel, Kalyan Gurung and Yogendra Chaudhari had expressed their views in the meeting, said CWC member Pariyar.

The probe committee on July 27 had submitted its report on the active memberships of the party in the meeting of office-bears.

According to the reprt, the number of active members of the NC has reached 852,711 for the 14th General Convention.

Five CWC members expressed their views in the first meeting. The leaders in the meeting Thursday had said a new schedule for the upcoming 14th General Convention would be submitted in the meeting today.

Spokesperson Sharma said the new schedule of the convention would be decided after receiving suggestions of the central members.

The NC started discussion on a new schedule after it seemed unlikely to hold the 14th General Convention as slated earlier for September 1-4.
