Govt fixes new pay scale for civil servants, transfers secretaries



KATHMANDU: The government has set the new pay scale for civil servants at all levels.

Government Spokesperson Gyanendra Karki said a cabinet meeting held on Monday at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar fixed the new salary scale for government employees at all levels.

The cabinet also transferred several secretaries today. Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, who was working at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, is transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Likewise, Secretary Begendra Sharma Poudel is assigned to the Ministry of Defense from National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission, and Baikuntha Aryal to Ministry of Communications and Information Technology from the Prime Minister’s Office. Similarly, Principal Secretary of Province 1 Suman Aryal has been transferred to the Office of the Auditor General and Karnali Principal Secretary Ganesh Prasad Pandey has been transferred to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

Among other decisions, Joint Secretary Govinda Prasad Sharma was promoted to the post of special class officer and was deputed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Karki said ‘Hello Sarkar Grievances Handling Directive 2022 has been sent to the Administration Committee of the Council of Ministers and the Special Economic Zone (First Amendment) Regulations 2022 has been sent to Economic and Infrastructure Committee for discussions.

Also today, the Military Service (Fourth Amendment) Regulations 2022 has been sent to the Legislation Committee, according to Karki. Furthermore, Kamal Bahadur Bogati, an official of the Upper Trishuli III ‘A’ Hydropower Project, has been assigned to carry out the task of land acquisition and advance preliminary jobs.

The cabinet also decided to promote Sudhir Bhattarai, Ghanshyam Lamsal and Tej Bahadur Chhetri to the post of joint-secretary (First Class Gazetted Officer) and depute them in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or line agencies.
