UML Standing Committee endorses statute amendment proposal

Central Committee to have 225 members



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting has endorsed the party’s statute amendment proposal.

A meeting held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation, Lalitpur on Monday passed the party statute amendment proposal.

The party had formed a task force under the coordination of Deputy General Secretary and Chief of the Organization Department Bishnu Poudel.

Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang earlier presented the proposal to the Central Committee.

According to Tamang, the proposed new statute will not have the provision of the politburo and alternate central members. However, the statute will have the provision of office bearers, Standing Committee, and Central Members.

Likewise, the meeting has also proposed to increase the number of Central Committee members.

Provision has been made to have a 225-member Central Committee.

Meanwhile, the UML is holding its Central Committee meeting this afternoon to endorse the statute amendment proposal passed by the Standing Committee.
