Police nab a doctor on sexual abuse allegation



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a doctor from Dhankuta on allegation of sexually abusing a patient.

DSP Deepak Kumar Rai of District Police Office, Dhankuta, informed that 48-year-old Dr. Raj Sharma has been arrested for investigation on the case related with sexual abuse.

A 53-year-old man had lodged a verbal complaint with the police last night alleging that the doctor had sexually abused him. According to the police, the tipsy doctor mistreated the patient when he went to treat the patient at night.

“We have arrested the doctor after receiving a verbal complaint from the victim,” DSP Rai said, “We are investigating taking the accused under custody.”

The patient had a problem related to urination. That is why he was mistreated when he went for treatment.

The patient was admitted to the center three days ago. He was being discharged on Monday.

Dr. Sharma works at Subas Medical and Diagnosis Center at Dhankuta-7, Dhankuta.

The police are now interrogating the doctor.
