Prime Minister Deuba calls cabinet meeting

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a cabinet meeting this afternoon.

The cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar.

According to sources in Baluwatar, the meeting will discuss current political issues and daily administrative work.

The expansion of the Council of Ministers has been delayed due to disagreement over the distribution of ministers within the five-party alliance.

Though Prime Minister Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ were preparing to include UML’s Madhav Nepal faction in the government, the expansion of the Council of Ministers has been delayed due to lack of concrete decision by the Nepal faction.

The ruling Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, and CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal are participating in the coalition.
