CPN-UML designates heads of party’s nine departments



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has assigned chiefs of nine departments in the party.

A Standing Committee meeting held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation Monday has decided to assign departmental portfolios to party leaders.

According to Spokesperson Pradip Gyawali, Bishnu Poudel has been assigned the head of organization department, and Chairman KP Sharma Oli is to look after the school department.

Similarly, Subash Nembang has been appointed to lead parliamentary department, Bishnu Rimal the finance department, Pradip Gyawali the publicity department, Bhanubhakta Dhakal the tourism department and Dr. Rajan Bhattarai the foreign department.

Likewise, Agni Kharel has been appointed as the head of the election department and Devendra Dahal as chief of local level department.

Despite the attempts made to retain party unity by including the Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, no leaders of the Nepal faction were assigned any responsibility on Monday.
