Trickery, deceit ought not to repeat in hopes of being PM again: UML leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) senior leader Madhav Nepal has warned that one should not to resort to trickery and deceit in hopes of becoming the prime minister again.

Speaking at a mass gathering of AKHIL Force in Kathmandu Saturday, senior leader Nepal said, “No one should again dare to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) and resort to undue activities to fulfill one’s ambition for premiership. Whatever should be done ought to be in a transparent manner.”

Expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court, Nepal said by overturning the HoR dissolution, the court garnered much respect. He said rule of law was established by reinstating HoR and the country returned to the right track.

Nepal also expressed confidence that the current government would work on behalf of the people as it had struggled to restore the HoR.

He also warned that if anyone wanted to restore the monarchy, he would not tolerate it. “The monarchy will not return. If anyone tries to restore it, they will thrown into a pit,” he said. “We have promulgated the constitution by spilling our blood. If anyone tries to trample this constitution, we will not tolerate it.”

Stating that he has always been adamant about ideas and principles, he said that the chaotic trend of tyranny should be ended.
