Vaccination, along with good governance, is govt priority: Pradeep Giri

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress lawmaker Pradeep Giri has said that the main responsibility of the government now is to ensure good governance along with vaccination to all.

Speaking at the House of Representatives on Friday, Giri reiterated in the need to take vaccination and good governance hand in hand for the failure in good governance might result in the failure of system itself.

“Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been saying persistently that his priority is vaccination, it is true vaccination should be the topmost priority to curb the coronavirus pandemic,” he said in the parliament, adding, “However, the importance of good governance should not be undermined as well, for the failure of the latter is likely to result in failure of the system itself.”

He added that the government should make the people feel good governance first so that the faith in democracy, democratic system and democratic institution can be retained.
