KATHMANDU: British YouTuber KSI is a blend of personality, talent, and entertainment having more than 21 million subscribers.
Although his real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, he goes by “JJ” better known as KSI — Knowledge, Strength and Integrity.
Born on the 19th of June 1993 in Watford, UK, KSI was an average teenager who loved gaming in general.
Therefore, being influenced by other gaming YouTubers, he ventured into making his own channel known as KSI, which has currently 21 million subscribers.
In fact, he is one of the top YouTube personalities ranking in the top 10 of the UK’s YouTube creators, with most of his videos achieving 5 million-plus views.
In 2021, he broke the music charts, with his second album “AOTP”.
While some may call it a slight exaggeration, when K-Pop once ruled the world, YouTubers like KSI have been winning the hearts of youngsters around the world.
This young artist expresses himself and the songs he produced have proved to be his outlet for freedom, hope and ecstasy.
Like every small YouTube channel, KSI, too, started by making random gameplays.
He uploaded his first video in 2009 which was the gameplay of Modern Warfare 2. Soon after, he, however, switched into making FIFA videos. Due to his quite edgy humor and his contagious laughter, he brought in a lot of views and subscribers.
As his career instantly took off, he decided to drop out of school and make YouTube his full-time job, putting all his time and effort into it, which fortunately paid off as he gained his first million subscribers in 2012.
In 2013, KSI and his friends formed a gaming group known as the Sidemen which now has over 12 million subscribers.
Soon after that, he became the first African British YouTuber to gain 10 million subscribers.
In 2018, he had an amateur boxing match with British YouTuber Joe Weller which ended in TKO (Technical Knock Out) by KSI in the third round.
This boxing fight led to KSI fighting another YouTuber and internet personality, Logan Paul in which the first fight ended in a draw, and the second fight which took place in 2019 ended in a spilt decision win for KSI.
The second fight between him and Logan Paul generated over 1.3 million pay per views and is the biggest Internet event ever recorded.
Soon after the boxing match, KSI came out with his first studio album ‘Dissimulation’ which came in second on the official’s chart.
In 2021, he came out with his second studio album “ATOP” which showed first on the official charts.
KSI who started his journey as a small YouTuber, is now a movie star, a platinum artist, and a boxer.
This young artist has been releasing music and has gone on tour to different countries to promote his songs.
He has also released an album with YouTuber Randolph in 2019 called “New Age”, and is performing at the Wembley Arena in London in 2022.
His debut song “Lamborghini” sits at more than 108 million views on YouTube.
He thrived off for proving people wrong and working hard and now has 30+ million subscribers and is the biggest British YouTuber.
This proves that anything is achievable if people are willing to work hard and put in a lot of time and effort.
In fact, making a constant investment will definitely pay off.
