28-yr old held with 1.165 kg gold at TIA

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man with 1.165 kilograms of gold at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Acting on a tip-off, a police team rounded up 28-year-old Padam Pariyar of Gorkha at the TIA with the illegal gold.

The gold was seized during a custom check at the domestic revenue department. It was hidden inside a suitcase in the form of an iron cup, said police.

Pariyar had landed at the TIA by a flight of Himalaya Air from Dubai.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking Pariyar and the gold under control.
