NC’s Active Membership Probe Committee submitting report today

CWC to sort out remaining dispute on active membership

KATHMANDU: Central Active Membership Probe Committee of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is submitting its report today.

The Committee will submit its report at the office-bearers’ meeting scheduled to take place at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha after 10 am.

The Committee led by central member Ramesh Lekhak has not  been able to sort out the active  memberships row cropped in Bara and Saptari and has decided to hand over the remaining disputes to the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the party to resolve.

Under the renewal category, the Committee has accomplished the distribution work in all the 165 constituencies. However, it has not yet sorted out the disputes seen in Sarlahi-2 and Dhanusha-4.

“It has sorted out almost all the disputes and is submitting its report today,” Jeevan Pariyar, a member of the Committee, said, adding, “The CWC will take a final call on the remaining disputes.”

Apart from receiving the report, the office-bears’ meeting today will amend the schedule of the 14th General Convention of the party, call the CWC meeting and discuss the cabinet expansion, said Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary of the Central Party Office of NC.
