EC to take final call on JSP factions’ claim over authenticity today

Calls CEC members to office at 11 am

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is taking a final call on the issue surrounding the authenticity of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) on Monday.

There have been possibilities growing that the decision would be taken in favor of Yadav-Bhattarai faction after the Supreme Court denied issuing verdict as per the claim of Thakur-Mahato group.

The preparations are underway to take the decision based on the number of central executive committee (CEC) members after both the factions staked claim over the authenticity of the party.

The EC has directed all the CEC members to show up in the office at 11 am today.

Yadav-Bhattarai faction seems stronger in the 51-member CEC as well as in the Parliamentary Party (PP).

Yadav-Bhattarai faction has been claiming 33 members in the CEC and 21 lawmakers in the PP out of 32.

The faction has been keeping its lawmakers in the resort since yesterday presuming the possibility that they might change the camp.
