KATHMANDU: Leaders close to senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Poudel are of the view that 14th general convention of the party should not be postponed under any circumstances.
A meeting of NC leaders of Poudel faction held at General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj Sunday concluded that work of the active membership probe committee should be finalized at the earliest and hold the party’s general convention as per schedule.
Leader Arjun Narsingh KC said the leadership was trying to postpone the convention citing Covid-19 pandemic. He added that the postponed ward level convention, which was slated for July 27 earlier, should also be held as quick as possible.
The ward level convention was postponed citing dispute in distribution of active membership.
Poudel faction leader are doubtful about the general convention being held in September, as per schedule.
