Active membership distributed arbitrarily to influence general convention: Dr. Koirala



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has accused that the active membership of the party has been distributed arbitrarily with the intention of capturing the party.

Speaking to the party cadres and leaders from Dhanusha and Bara after listening to their grievances, Dr. Koirala remarked that there are instances of haphazard distribution of the membership.

“We have heard about the haphazard distribution of the party membership, such activities carried out with intention of influencing the general convention are objectionable,” he said demanding, “The ill-intently distributed membership should be scrapped.”

Leaders and cadres of NC Dhanusha and Bara are staging hunger strike at party’s central office in Sanepa.

Dr. Koirala said that he has always been with the party cadres in the fight against fraud in active membership and expressed his commitment to support this fight till the end.

NC leaders including lawmaker Dr. Amaresh Kumar Singh, Constituent Assembly member Dr. Chandra Mohan have been on a hunger strike at the party office in Sanepa for the past few days.
