After Basnet’s Cyber Army, UML forms another IT Army

KATHMANDU: After few months’ operation of ‘Cyber Army’ formed under the command of CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet, the party has formed another organization ‘IT Army’ to monitor and be actively involved in the social media.

Formed under the initiation of former Minister and UML leader of CPN-Maoist Center background Prabhu Sah, the ‘IT Army’ is scheduled to be officially announced on Tuesday.

According to the Chand Bhusan Sah, the Central Coordinator of the organization will have 151 member central committee.

Similarly, the province committees will have 101 members, the district committee will have 51 members and the municipal committee will have 33 members.

Coordinator Sah informed that the structure of the IT Army will also include the departments of organization, training, production, publicity and intelligence.

Former Minister Prabhu Sah, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Lekhraj Bhatt as well as UML National Assembly parliamentary party leader Suman Pyakurel will be participating as guests in the IT Army announcement program to be organized in Divyashwori Party Palace in Lokanthali on Tuesday.

Although the organization has promised to use information technology in favor of the oppressed masses, political analysts regard it as a survival trick of the leaders from former Maoist Center party.

During UML Chairman KP Oli’s rule, Basnet had formed cyber army to trace the activities of the opponents and spread positive message in favor the Oli-government.
