KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged the concerned sector not to take school enrollments before results of Secondary Education Examinations (SEE), 2077 BS, are out.

School enrollments before SEE results come out is against the provision in the rule 48 (6) of the School Education Management Regulations, 2074 BS, according to a notice issued by the Education Department of the metropolis. All secondary schools have been asked not to take enrollments in Grades XI before the results are out, said Ram Prasad Subedi, chief of the education department.

The schools should follow some other directives as well. They should already fix fees to be charged for Grades XI and XII students when Grade XI enrollment takes place and charge fees for registration and examination as set by the National Examination Board (NEB).

Similarly, students should not be forced to purchase textbooks, exercise books, school uniforms and other educational materials from the place as directed by the respective school.
