KATHMANDU: Medical education reform campaigner and Senior Orthopedic surgeon Prof. Dr. Govinda KC has set five points demand before the new government.
Issuing a press release on Monday, Dr. KC reiterated on the need to implement the agreements related to medical education reform and signed by former governments.
His five points demand include addressing various problems in the field of health and medical education and the measures promised to be taken for the same.
Dr. KC demanded that the officials of Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences should be sacked, and those who threatened the officials of the Medical Education Commission should be punished.
He also urged the government to take initiation to open government medical colleges in Ilam or Panchthar, Udaypur and Dadeldhura or Doti.
Dr. KC also pointed out that the provision of 75 percent scholarship in the public educational institutions has not been enforced by many institutions and demanded the implementation of the provisions made in the Medical Education Act.
