NC parliamentary party meeting set for Sunday



KATHMANDU: The parliamentary party (PP) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to take place at the parliament building in New Baneswor at 2.00 pm on Sunday.

The PP meeting is taking place for the first time after party President and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba became the prime minister.

Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Dila Sangraula said the PP meeting will be held at 2 pm on Sunday in New Baneswor-based federal parliament building. The meeting will discuss the roles of the parliamentary party and the parliament in the changed political context after the NC ascended to power last week.

The NC which had been discharging the role of the main opposition party in the parliament following the 2017 elections came to take the government leadership under its President Deuba. Sangraula further shared that the meeting will also discuss party’s role in the parliament taking into consideration the contemporary political context.

The parliament session has been called for 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. Likewise, a meeting of the parliamentary Business Advisory Committee has been scheduled for 10 am Sunday.
