UML SC meeting uncertain over Oli’s Baluwatar exit

KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the CPN-UML scheduled for Wednesday has been uncertain.

The SC meeting which was scheduled for Tuesday was postponed due to the outgoing Prime Minister KP Oli’s address to the nation.

The time and the place for today’s SC meeting has not yet been fixed, informed Sher Bahadur Tamang, the secretary of the UML Central Party Office.

Today’s SC meeting is likely to be postponed since Oli is leaving Baluwatar for his private residence in Balkot today, said Tamang.

However, if the leaders can spare time for it, it may be held and will fix the time for central committee (CC) meeting, added Tamang.

Oli faction has been dissatisfied with Nepal-Khanal faction after Supreme Court issued a mandamus to appoint Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister.

Earlier, the UML taskforce had inked a 10 point deal and on Sunday midnight and it was supposed to be endorsed by the SC meeting the following day.

Oli in his address to the nation Tuesday had criticized senior leader Madhav Nepal and Nepal-Khanal faction is still undecided to attend the SC meeting.
