Sujita Thakur’s body found a month after murder



KATHMANDU: The body of Sujita Thakur, 26 of Bhramarpura in Loharpatti Municipality Ward No. 7 of Mahottari Mahottari, who has been missing since June 2, has been found.

Sujita’s body was recovered from a toilet near a petrol pump, according to Mahottari Police.

The body was found following a joint search operation launched by the Province Police Office, Janakpur, and Mahottari.

The remains of the body were found along with her clothes in a field — about a kilometer away from the place where the body was found.

Police have arrested her brother-in-law Rupesh Thakur and her husband Mukesh Thakur on the charge of murdering Sujita.

Police had launched a search operation after her 5-year-old son revealed about Sujita’s murder.

According to Prakash Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mahottari, mother-in-law, father-in-law Patiram and sister-in-law Roma have also been arrested.

Gyan Kumar Mahato, Deputy Superintendent of Police, informed that further investigation is underway into the incident.
