NC finalizes work of active memberships in 64 districts

Poudel directs to resolve dispute thru consensus  



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has directed the active membership investigation committee to resolve the dispute through consensus.

Taking stock of the progress of the active membership investigation committee today, leader Poudel directed the Committee led by Central Member Ramesh Lekhak to end the dispute through consensus.

The Lekhak-led probe committee has been looking into the disputed issuses seen in the active membership distribution at Dharmashala in Gaushala.

The Committee has prepared the final list of active memberships following thorough investigation in 64 districts.

Coordinator Lekhak had apprised Poudel of the progress of the active membership investigation saying that the active memberships of 64 districts have been finalized, Lekhak said. The name-list of active memberships of 57 districts has been published.

Over 850,000 members (including both old and new) from all the 77 districts have applied for the active memberships.

Of them, disputes are yet to be resolved in around 300 wards. The Committee has to sort out the issue and submit the name-list to President Sher Bahadur Deuba by July 14 as per the schedule.

Nepali Congress is holding the ward convention on July 27 and 14th General Convention on September 1-4.
