Food industry evading tax worth over Rs 90 million



CHITWAN: A food industry based in Ratnanagar-8 in Chitwan district has been found evading taxes worth over Rs 90 million in cahoots with two others.

The Department of Revenue Investigation has registered a case at the High Court at Patan, Lalitpur against Shivashakti Food Industry’s proprietor Dinesh Kumar Agrawal along with his two accomplices.

The Department has charged the trio of evading taxes worth over Rs 92.7 million seeking jail term along with a penalty equivalent to the evaded amount.

Furthermore, Dinesh Kumar Agrawal and Sima Agrawal of the Shivashakti Food Industry and Thapaliya Traders Suppliers’ proprietor Ram Prasad Thapaliya have been accused of leaking revenue by concealing the details of exact purchase and sales as well as VAT, bonus tax, and income tax, according to the Department.

The Department has demanded with the High Court the necessary action against the trio as per the Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) Act-2052 BS.
