KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has arrested 28 gamblers along with Rs 1.4 million in cash and cheques of different banks amounting to Rs 180 thousand.
They were held from a residence of Wangchu Sherpa of Simaltar, Baudha in the Kathmandu Valley.
A team mobilized from Metropolitan Police Premises Kathmandu arrested the gamblers while they were staking the money on Tuesday night.
A spokesperson at the premises Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Kumar Basnet, said that the gamblers were held based on a tip-off.
They were made public on Wednesday. Further investigation into the incident is underway, Basnet added. RSS
