Medical graduates deprived of internship due to COVID19 to get chance in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Medical Education Commission has decided to allow the medical graduates from outside deprived to attend the internship due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak to continue their internship course in Nepal.

Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the Commission has notified all medical students who completed their regular classes from the medical colleges abroad but could not continue their internship courses can now continue their internship in Nepal if they are not in the position to join their colleges.

According to the commission, the students who have completed bachelor’s degree in medical education abroad will be able to do internship in Nepal.

Arrangements have been made for those who have not been able to do an internship at the same university where they studied due to COVID-19 to do an internship in Nepal, the notice said.

However, to entertain the facility, the students should have completed their MBBS by the end of April 2020. This is a one-time facility provided by the commission.

The commission has asked the interested students to apply online from July 8 to July 20.
