Province Assembly meetings put off



BIRATNAGAR: The budget session of Province 1 was postponed on Sunday as well.

The 16th meeting of the Province Assembly (PA) was put off after the CPN (Maoist Center) lawmakers protested in the meeting. With the obstruction, Deputy Speaker Saraswati Pokharel postponed the meeting until 2:00 pm Monday.

The meeting was scheduled to hold discussions on issues related to the Ministry of Social Development.

Meanwhile, Bagmati Province Assembly (PA) meeting scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday was also postponed. The opposition lawmakers are obstructing the session blaming arbitrariness in budget allocation.

An all-party meeting was held with the initiative of the Speaker Sunday. It is stated that the all-party meeting reached a conclusion to hold discussions again on the topics of budget. The meeting will take place at 11:00 am on Monday.
