KATHMANDU: Leaders close to CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli held discussions with senior party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday morning.
Prime Minister Oli’s confidants Subash Nemwang, Bishnu Poudel and Shankar Pokharel reached senior leader Nepal’s residence in Koteshwor and held discussions.
Ghanshyam Bhusal, who is close to leader Nepal, was also present in the discussion that basically focused on party unity.
During the meeting, PM Oli’s confidants urged leader Nepal to meet and end the differences to keep the party intact.
“We urged leader Nepal to hold talks with PM Oli,” leader Nemwang said.
Prime Minister and UML Chairman Oli has been urging the disgruntled lawmakers to withdraw their signatures who had earlier signed the petition in favor of appointing Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, at a meeting of the UML Central Committee held on Saturday, PM Oli has warned of taking action against the dissident faction if they did not withdraw the signatures before the Supreme Court decided on the issue.
The Nepal faction, meanwhile, is adamant about its stance of not withdrawing its signatures.
