“Why Oli laid claim to PM again after failing to win trust vote?”, CJ Rana asks defendants’ lawyers

KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana has questioned the defendants’ lawyers why Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli tried to lay claim to PM’s post pursuant to Article 76 (5) after he failed to win a vote of confidence pursuant to Article 76 (3).

During the hearing on the dissolution of parliament Thursday, CJ Rana posed the question to defendants’ lawyer Parshu Ram Koirala. CJ Rana asked why hadn’t PM Oli supported someone else after losing the trust vote.

Senior Advocate told the Constitutional Bench that he could not answer the question.
