UML intra-party feud widens further as top guns engage in fresh blame games

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Nepal have engaged in blame games against each other yet again, triggering rift in the party.

The blame games between the two top leaders of the party have surfaced at a time when the second rung leaders are rendering efforts to resolve the intra-party feud, setting up an alarm that the party will plunge into political turmoil again.

Prime Minister Oli vented his ire on Nepal after the latter accused him of being a right-wing and derailing from the party statute and the Constitution while presenting his views on the birth anniversary of late communist leader Madan Bhandari yesterday.

Oli lambasted Nepal saying that he is siding with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and carrying out activities againt the party he belongs to.

Speaking at a program organized by Madan Bhandari Foundation yesterday, Oli lashed out at some UML leaders including Nepal.

Issuing a press note on Monday morning, Nepal had accused party chair Oli of deviating from the party statue, Constitutional provisions and the democratic norms and values.
