Three killed, two injured in Sunsari road accident



BIRATNAGAR: Three people were killed and two injured in a road accident at Koshi Katan area along the East-West Highway in Sunsari on Sunday morning.

According to DSP Narendra Karki, the spokesperson at the District Police Office Sunsari, three people died when a jeep — Ba 3 Kha 7244 — hit Sa 1 Chha 4661 motorcycle and Ba 3 Kha 9368 van coming from the opposite direction at Koshi Katan area of Koshi Rural Municipality- 8, Sunsari.

The deceased have been identified as Uday Sah, 28, of Dakneshwari-5, Saptari, and Ram Prasad Sah and Akshay Kumar Gupta of Biratnagar. All three died at Inaruwa Hospital while undergoing treatment.

According to the police, Hiace driver Bikas Tamang, 35, of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot was injured in the accident while his co-driver Narayan Basyal broke his leg.
