UML leader Nepal accuses PM Oli of having intent to split party

UML’s intra-party feud escalates further

KATHMANDU: Already beleaguered by the intra-party dispute, the ruling CPN-UML has faced another obstacle while narrowing down differences in the party after Prime Minister KP Oli lodged a writ petition against the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate UML lawmakers in Karnali Pradesh.

Reacting to party chair Oli’s step to move the apex court seeking action against UML’s provincial lawmakers at a time while voices are being raised to withdraw actions against party leaders, senior leader Madhav Nepal has stated that Oli’s hidden motive is to split the party.

Leader Nepal lashed out at party chair Oli for taking the flexibility shown by him for the sake of party unity as his weakness, concluding that the latter does not want to keep the party united.

Meanwhile, Nepal flayed Prime Minister Oli for aligning with regressive forces just to cling on to power.

Similarly, leaders Surendra Pandey, Bhim Acharya, Gokarna Bista have commented that party chair Oli’s latest move will infringe the efforts being made to keep party the united.

A UML leader has said that Oli’s writ petition filed recently at the Supreme Court has spoilt the environment created to patch up differences in the party.

On June 10, Supreme Court had issued an interim order ruling that the 10th General Convention Organizing Committee of the ruling UML cannot take action against its four provincial lawmakers of Karnali Pradesh.
