KATHMANDU: Floods, landslides and inundation that have taken place in different places in the country after the torrential rainfall in the recent weeks has so far claimed the lives of 20 people.
According to Nepal Police Headquarters, 21 other people have gone missing and 20 individuals are injured. Spokesperson of Nepal Police Basant Bahadur Kunwar said that a total of 806 people were rescued from the disasters.
It is said that 21 people in Sindhupalchowk and one in Bajura sustained injuries due to flooding, landslides and inundation. According to police, road networks in Jumla, Kaski, Baitadi and other districts are disrupted and the police personnel are working to clear the obstacles.
Likewise, a total of 210 houses were inundated and altogether 3,258 people from 748 households displaced due to the disasters.
