Heavy rain forecast in four provinces; people urged to take precautions

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rains in some places of Pradesh 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Pradesh and light rains in many places of the country today.

Currently, the monsoon is active in the country with low monsoon trough in the western part of Nepal that has been causing rains.

The Division has issued an alert to the people saying that there are high chances of flash floods in the hilly region of these provinces and the level of water in the rivulets might be high.

The weather is cloudy across the country this morning and the light rain is occurring in hilly regions of Pradesh 1 and Sudurpaschim.

Similarly, the weather will generally be cloudy across the country with light to moderate rain in many places in the country and heavy rain is expected in one or two places of Pradesh 1, Gandaki, Lumbini Pradesh, according to a weather bulletin issued by the MFD.
