Floods break down police post, wash away ward office in Helambu

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Badly battered by the floods and landslides already, the floods have occurred in the Melamchi River in Sindhupalchowk district.

Monsoon-induced floods have swept away ward office and the office building of a police post in Helambu rural municipality-2 in the district.

The floods triggered by incessant rains continuing since last June 15 have swept away ward office and the office building of a police post on Friday night, informed Nimagyaljen Sherpa, the chairman of the rural municipality.

Similarly, the office building of East Point Academy based at Ward No. 4, Gyalthum has also been washed away.

The floods have also battered hundreds of ropanis of land and incurred damages to the office building of Terse Secondary School in Melamchi municipality-6, Talamarang, said District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.
