Govt directs to distribute relief thru one door system



KATHMANDU: The government has directed all the concerned units to distribute relief materials to the flood and landslide victims through one door system.

The Ministry of Home Affairs directed district administration offices in writing to distribute relief materials through the local units.

“The district administration offices have been directed to make necessary arrangements to ensure that relief materials will be provided to the flood victims through local units,” said Anil Pokharel, the chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

Similarly, Rs 15,000 will be provided to a family of five members and Rs 20,000 to the family of more than five members who have been hit by the floods and landslides.

As many as 19 districts including Sindhupalchowk, Manang, Kaski, Pyuthan, and Jajarkot have been affected by floods induced by the incessant rainfall continuing since the last June 13.
