Monsoon mayhem: Two perish in Doti landslide, one in Kalikot

KATHMANDU: Three people have lost their lives in the floods triggered by incessant rains in Kalikot and Doti.

The deceased have been identified as 54-year-old Bale BK of Khadachakra municipality-6, Kalikot.

BK died after the landslide occurred at Molpha along the Karnali Highway on Thursday night.

Similarly, two people died in the flood that occurred at Jadinge Bagmare of Silgadhi municipality-5 in Doti.

The deceased have been identified as seven-year-old Binod Bhandari, son of Surendra Bhandari and 10-year-old Denisha Bista, the daughter of Nabaraj Bista, who had come to her maternal uncle’s house.

Roads in various places in Salyan, Dailekh, Humla, Surkhet, Tanahu, Palpa, Syangja and Gorkha have been damaged.

The landslide broke down a house of Suresh Dhungana in Bhanu municipality-11, Tanahun, incurring a loss of Rs 1.5 million in property.
